Overview of the SEC
Auburn basketball is looking to bounce back Saturday, January 7th against #13 Arkansas after being upset by an unranked Georgia.
Alabama and Tennessee are tied for first being the only two teams who are 2-0. Georgia, Texas A&M, and Vanderbilt have all won their only in conference game played leaving them at 1-0. Auburn is one and one with a win against Florida and a loss to Georgia, Missouri, Arkansas, LSU, and Kentucky have also won one and lost one. South Carolina is 0-1. Mississippi State, Ole Miss, and Florida are off to a rocky start at 0-2.
Highlighting a few stat leaders
Missouri is the only SEC team who ranks in the top 10 of D1 schools in scoring offense, the Tigers are ranked 4th averaging 87.3 PPG. Mississippi State is also the only SEC school who ranks in the top 10 in scoring defense ranked at #6 with 56.9 OPP PPG. Auburn leads the rest of the country in blocks per game, through 14 games the Tigers have 92 blocks leaving them with an average of 6.6 BKSPG.
